Privacy Policy for Plantonic

This Privacy Policy explains what information Tumalo Creek Holdings, Inc. DBA Plantonic ("Company", "we", "us") handles when you use the Plantonic app for macOS (the "App"), visit https://plantonic.app (the "Website"), or contact us. We designed Plantonic so that we handle as little of your information as possible.

The short version

  • The App does not collect any data. It has no accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no Company servers. Nothing you do in the App is sent to us.
  • Your plans are files on your Mac. We never see them.
  • If you use AI features, you use your own API key and your prompts go directly from your Mac to the AI provider you chose. We are not in the middle.
  • The only personal information we receive is what you send us yourself, for example when you email support.

The App

Your plans. Plans you create are stored as files in locations you choose. They stay on your Mac or in storage you control, such as iCloud Drive if you put them there. The App does not upload them anywhere.

API keys. If you enable AI features, the API key you enter is stored only on your Mac, encrypted using the macOS Keychain. It is never transmitted to the Company. You can remove it at any time in Settings.

AI providers. When you use an AI feature, your prompt and the relevant parts of your plan are sent directly from your Mac to the provider you selected, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google, using your key. That provider processes the request under its own privacy policy and terms, which you should review. The Company does not receive, store, or have access to these requests or responses.

AI assistants. If you choose to connect the App to an AI assistant on your Mac, such as Claude Desktop, the assistant can read and edit the plan you have open. That connection runs only on your Mac, and anything the assistant sends to its provider is governed by that provider's privacy policy.

Purchases. The App is sold through the Mac App Store. Apple processes your purchase and handles your payment and identity under Apple's privacy policy. We do not receive your name, email address, or payment details from Apple. Apple provides us aggregated sales and usage statistics that do not identify you.

No tracking. The App contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking technology and does not request permission to track you.

The Website

The Website is a static site. It sets no cookies and includes no analytics or advertising scripts. It is served by Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type as needed to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. We do not use this information to identify you.

Contacting us

If you email [email protected] or otherwise contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to respond to you and to improve the App. We keep support correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for reference, and we delete it on request.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information and do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We may disclose information we hold if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of personal information we hold about you, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because the only personal information we hold is support correspondence you sent us, you can exercise these rights by emailing [email protected]. Information that lives only on your Mac, or that you sent to an AI provider, is under your control or that provider's, not ours.

International users

The Company is located in the United States. If you contact us from outside the United States, your message is processed and stored in the United States. The App itself sends nothing to the Company from any location.

Children

The App and Website are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy at https://plantonic.app/privacy with a new version number and effective date. This policy is versioned together with our End User License Agreement.
